Melpool QAC is a quaternary ammonium compound that treats and prevents growth of algae. QAC is highly concentrated algaecide available in 1 and 5 ltr containers. The most common type of algae found in swimming pools is blue-green algae. Having an effective amount of QAC in the pool water will prevent the growth of the algae. Although blue-green algae is responsive to shock treatment, yellow and black algae are chlorine resistant. Robotic pool cleaners can remove algae to some extent. The remaining algae can be brushed off from the wall and floor.
