Contains calcium hypochlorite (Ca(ClO)2) tablets that contain 70% of available chlorine. Calcium hypochlorite tablets dissolve slowly at a controlled rate and offers better consistency in sanitizing the pool. The 20g chlorine tablets can be placed in the skimmer or inside a floating dispenser. In soft water areas calcium hypochlorite increases the calcium levels in the water which prevents the leaching of calcium from the lining of the swimming pool and the pipes. Calcium hypochlorite can lead to deposition of calcium salts on the sides of the pool and could cause calcification in pool filters especially in hard water areas. The pH of calcium hypochlorite is between 11-12 and the optimum pH for pool water is 7.2, which is the same as the pH in human eyes. The pH has to be optimized to the range of 7.2-7.6 while adding calcium hypochlorite in order to increase the effectiveness of disinfection.
